Image Drag and Drop

Image drag and drop questions are formative assessments and occur before Exploration content is presented. These questions should only contain labels/images that are presented in the upcoming Exploration content pages.

They appear in Test Your Knowledge in the Exploration tab and can be added to lessons through the Question Customization tool or the Custom Lesson Authoring tool.

1. Select "Image Drag & Drop."

2. Compose the question.

Bold the question so that it matches Science Interactive-authored content.

3. Add the image by selecting “+ADD” in the Image preview box.

Browse to the file in your computer or drag and drop the file into the pop-up. Accepted file types: png, gif, and jpg/jpeg.

4. Complete the image information.

  1. Text on hover: add text the student will see when they hover over a response box
  2. Image alternative text: add a description of the image to remain ADA compliant

5. Select "+ADD" under "Possible Responses" to create a list of boxes to enter the answers.

You can rearrange the order of responses by dragging the three-line icon to the left of each response.

6. Under "Set correct answer(s)," drag the answers to the correct boxes.

Correct answers must be set or you will be unable to save the question.

7. Open the “More options” drop-down.

8. Adjust "Response container position" according to the word count in the responses.

  • If the responses have more than two words, position the group of responses at the top by modifying the “Response container position”.
  • If the responses have two words or fewer, position the responses to the left of the stimuli. The default is set to bottom.

Nothing else in the "More options" box needs to be modified.

9. Select "Save" at the top of the page.

10. On the Overview page scroll down to the new question and assign a point value.

If you do not manually adjust this value, it will default to 1 point.

11. Select "Save" at the bottom of the Overview page to permanently save the question.

12. Repeat this process to add as many questions as you would like.
