Match List

Updated on

Matching questions are formative assessments and occur before Exploration content is presented. These questions should only contain terms/definitions that are presented in the upcoming Exploration content pages.

Match List questions are item association questions between two lists. They appear in Test Your Knowledge in the Exploration tab and can be added to lessons through the Question Customization tool or the Custom Lesson Authoring tool.

4. Add the answers to the “Possible responses” section by selecting “+ADD”.

  • Science Interactive suggests listing possible responses in alphabetical order.
  • Responses can be grouped if desired by dragging a response's three-line drag icon to the left of the text box. For example, an AP question may have students match the origin or insertion of muscles, the instructor could group the “Origin” responses and “Insertion” responses. Note: Grouping responses is usually used for Classification question types.

Correct answers must be placed or the "Save" button will not activate.

When editing a question after it was originally built, the Save button does not activate until you have made a change and also selected the "Show Answers" button on the right-hand side.

6. Open the “More options” drop-down.

  • If the responses have two words or fewer, select "Left" in the "Response container position" dropdown.
